Layaway tips - Microsoft RMS

Many retailers are discovering the benefits of offering layaways to their customers. Layaways can bring customers into the store more often, reduce returns, and attract customers who are careful spenders. Here are a few tips for efficiently creating and managing layaways with Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations.

Set the layaway expiration period and deposit amount
•    

On the File menu, click Configuration, and then click the Ordering tab.

Create a layaway
•    

Set the customer, and then press CTRL+F8.

Apply a customer payment to a saved layaway
•    

Recall the layaway, and then press SHIFT+F4.

Help a customer pick up a layaway
•    

Recall the layaway, and then press F12.

View information about all layaways
•    

On the Reports menu, generate the Layaways – Summary report.

View information about a particular layaway
•    

On the Reports menu, generate the Layaway – Detailed report.
