Why aren't the ESC/POS commands working in Windows?

Windows 95/98 and NT drivers do not pass escape codes as they did in Windows 3.x. When developing new software, consider using the functions provided by the printer driver rather than passing ESC codes. For maximum portability between vendor's hardware, consider using OPOS for application development.
