Why can't I open the cash drawer with my new EPSON printer? I was able to open it before with a different company’s printer

The RJ11 cash drawer port (marked DK for "drawer kick") on the back of the EPSON printer is wired differently than that same port on other brands of printers. Typically, the maker of the cash drawer makes cables wired for their drawer modified on one end for the different brands of printers. Contact the reseller or the cash drawer manufacturer to verify the cash drawer is meant for an EPSON printer or to get the correct cable.

If the cash drawer is meant for an EPSON printer, try creating a document with MS WordPad containing a capital “A” in the “Control” font. This font is only available from the drop down font list after an EPSON Windows driver has been installed and selected in the Page Setup menu.
