Let me know the length of the interface cable.

For serial interface, the cable length is specified as 15 m maximum in the RS-232C standard.

For parallel interface, the cable length is specified as 10 m in the IEEE1284 standard. However, the longer the interface cable, the more sensitive to external noise, resulting in the cause of communication failure.

It is recommended that the interface cable be as short as possible.
If a longer interface cable must be used by any means, make a study of noise prevention in accordance with the environment of use.
